CORDRAIN DRAINAGE
Corddrain 1200MMX25MTRS.
For the efficient, economical, vertical drainage of walls and other sub-surface structures
Cordrain® is a drainage sheet and is essentially a cuspated HDPE core with geotextile glued to one side. Cordrain® is installed behind retaining walls, bridge abutments, basement walls etc. and uses the existing soil as the backfill material (removing the need for granular backfill, such as screenings, and therefore saves money).
Cordrain® is installed with the geotextile facing the soil (with the cuspated HDPE sheet facing the wall), with any water in the soil filtering through the fabric into the core of the product.
Note: The geotextile does not permit any soil to enter the system – only water.
As the water passes through the fabric it will then head down vertically to the bottom of the Cordrain®, where additional drainage (such as Stripdrain® or an agi pipe) will remove the water from site. The HDPE cuspated core ensures the water will predominantly be kept away from the wall, thereby keeping the wall relatively dry and away from moisture contact.
Cordrain® has been specifically designed to reduce hydrostatic pressure behind structures such as retaining walls and bridge abutments. It is also ideal for draining foundations and basements, reducing the likelihood of structural damage caused by foundation movements in expansive soils. The impermeable core provides the added benefit of assisting in the waterproofing of structures which may reduce the functional requirement of a tanking membrane.
